Tennessee — A Tennessee woman allegedly stabbed the father of her child during a custody exchange and didn’t seem too worried about it in her mug shot.
Justyce Knowles, 25, was arrested and booked into the Shelby County Jail in Memphis, Tennessee, on December 24 after allegedly stabbing her child’s father during a custody visit earlier that month. The alleged incident occurred on December 4.
According to court records obtained by Memphis NBC affiliate WMC, Knowles was charged with aggravated assault and armed herself with a knife. She was held on a $15,000 bond posted on December 25.
According to the documents, on December 4, Knowles and her child’s father, whom WMC only identified as “Walker,” exchanged custody at his mother’s home.
A verbal altercation between the two parents allegedly ensued and escalated outside the home. Eventually, the fight became physical.
Knowles appeared to walk away from the fight at some point, but she later returned with a knife and allegedly attacked the man, who sustained wounds to his hands and neck.
While his injuries were minor, WMC reported that he was transported to Regional One Health Medical Center. He identified Knowles as the individual who allegedly attacked him.
It is unknown where the child was during the attack.
The man’s mother called the police on December 4 to report the altercation between Knowles and her son.
Knowles posted her bond and was released. She is due in court on December 27.
