Michigan man wins $1 million with fast scratch-off lottery ticket

Wayne County, Michigan — A 50-year-old Wayne County man’s daily ritual of purchasing scratch-off tickets recently paid off handsomely.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought a $1 million winning ticket at the Way Station on 950 South Main Street in Plymouth.

“I like playing all of the different lottery games, and I have a daily ritual of stopping at the Way Station to purchase a scratch-off ticket,” the player told me.

“When I got home, I scratched the Wild Cherry ticket and saw it was a $1 million winning ticket, so I had to scan it on the app to make sure I was reading it correctly. When the app confirmed my prize, I woke up my wife and told her the good news!”

The man recently went to the Michigan Lottery headquarters and claimed his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $693,000.

The man plans to use his winnings to improve his home, take a vacation, and live comfortably.

“The future is looking a lot brighter thanks to this prize,” the man said. “I feel extremely lucky to have won!”

Wild Cherry debuted in September, and since then, players have won more than $16 million.
