Charges dismissed against a 22-year-old accused of murder

Saginaw, Michigan – Murder charges against a suspect in a fatal October shooting at a Saginaw apartment complex have been dropped for the time being.

According to police, 43-year-old John Harris was found shot to death at the Birch Park apartments last fall.

Police arrested 22-year-old Bryce Rowley of Saginaw County and charged him with murder.

During a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, a key witness refused to testify about previous statements to police.

Rowley’s charges were dropped, but he remains in jail due to a probation violation.

The Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office said the case is still being investigated.
