WASHINGTON  —  Quanisha Ramsuer, 31, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday for obstruction of justice in connection with the investigation into Makiyah Wilson’s murder, according to U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. and Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith.

In addition to the prison sentence, Superior Court Judge Robert Okun ordered Ramsuer to serve three years on probation.

Ramsuer was found guilty by a Superior Court jury on September 3, 2024, for her role in the July 16, 2018, murder.

Evidence presented at trial revealed that on that day, five Wellington Park crew members—Mark Price, Antonio Murchison, Isaiah Murchison, Gregory Taylor, and Qujuan Thomas—drove to the Clay Terrace neighborhood armed with firearms.

The driver, Mark Price, briefly stopped to allow the others to exit the vehicle before opening fire on the Clay Terrace courtyard, firing over 50 shots indiscriminately. Makiyah Wilson, who was sitting on the front porch of her house, was killed.

Two other crew members, Quentin Michals and Darrise Jeffers, were found guilty of planning the shooting and securing the firearms used.

Marquell Cobbs was convicted of conspiracy in connection with the incident.

Ramsuer, who witnessed the defendants preparing for the shooting, repeatedly refused to testify truthfully about the shooters’ identities.

Trial evidence showed that Ramsuer had lived in or frequented the Wellington Park neighborhood most of her life and knew almost all of the defendants, including one she identified as her cousin.

Ramsuer was caught on video interacting with the defendants as they loaded into their vehicles to drive to Clay Terrace for the shooting.

She was also seen conversing closely with one of the defendants who planned the attack but remained behind.

Despite her apparent familiarity with the individuals, Ramsuer consistently refused to identify those she was seen interacting with in the video, leading to her obstruction of justice charge.
