CASSVILLE, Missouri – A judge ordered a mental evaluation for a woman accused of causing a fatal crash that killed four motorcycle riders during a charity ride in Lawrence County.
Theresa Manetzke is charged with several counts of second-degree murder and driving while intoxicated following a crash on June 3, 2023. A judge in neighboring Barry County granted her a $500,000 bond.
According to investigators, the group of ten motorcyclists was riding down State Highway 39 near Aurora when Manetzke crossed the center line and hit five of them. The crash resulted in one surviving motorcyclist losing his leg. Another teenager was critically injured in the crash, including several broken bones.
According to investigators, shortly after the crash, Manetzke informed law enforcement that she had taken several antipsychotic medications around 9 a.m. The crash occurred around 11 a.m. According to investigators, a field sobriety test determined she was impaired.
The victims included a 17-year-old girl, Kameron Hale, 28, James Olmsted, 59, and Linda Anderson, 61, all of Aurora.
