In March 2025, the Social Security Administration will send thousands of checks to US households. And for the time being, we can only receive one more check because the March payment schedule will end and we will have to wait until April to receive another.
However, in order to receive this new check within the next few days, we must be eligible. This payment is processed within 24 hours, but it is not available to everyone because certain requirements must be met.
Only if you meet them will you be able to receive the payment, which is due very soon. To avoid payment delays, check both the eligibility criteria and the fastest collection method.
If you have an accepted Social Security check, you’ve already met the majority of the requirements. It is not certain that you will be able to receive the check on March 26th, because the payment is for a specific group.
Once the payment has been accepted, we will be able to receive it within the month, but the specific day will be determined by the group of retirees to which we belong.
Which group of retirees receives the new Social Security?
The new retirement check-sending date will be March 26, 2025. On this day, retirees in group 4 will have direct access to their checks, so we only need to determine whether we are eligible for this payment.
Citizens who qualify for this Social Security payment are:
- Those with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
- Those with an accepted benefit from after May 1997.
Both requirements must be fulfilled. If we do not meet them, we will be unable to obtain this specific payment and will instead receive it on a different day. It all depends on which category of retirees we belong to.
The amount we will receive will vary based on our work history. Remember that in March 2025, retirees over the age of 70 can receive up to $5,180, but the average benefit is around $1,600. It all depends on the checks we’ve received in previous months.
Even so, keep in mind that March 26th is the date on which the Administration sends the Social Security check for this group of retirees, but if we do not have Direct Deposit enabled, we will have to wait a few more days before the money becomes available. We will receive the check sooner or later, but we must wait a little longer before using it.
