Over 400 tickets were sold this year, the most in recent years, for the 36th Annual Durand Union Station’s Fall Reverse Raffle. Proceeds from the Thursday, Oct. 20 event are used to fund the operations and upkeep on the historic building.
This year’s $5,000 Grand Prize winner was Mike Sutherland, $1,000 second prize – Pat Finney, $500 third prize – Betty Fuller, $350 fourth prize – S.C. Crowder, and $150 fifth price – Scott Smith. Winner of the early bird drawing was Sandy Russell and the members only drawing winner was Sam Crowl. Sutherland’s ticket was the last ticket to be drawn in the reverse raffle.
Mike Rexin, President of the DUSI Board commented, “I am just thrilled by the response we got this year. We have grown each of the last few years and the generosity of this community is humbling. We plan to continue to grow as we move forward with preserving this beautiful building and operating the Michigan Railroad History Museum.”
