The Community District Library has been offering free downloads of eBooks, eAudiobooks and magazines for a while now, but now have something new to add to the mix. It is announcing that CDL cardholders in Bancroft, Byron, Corunna, Lennon, Morrice, New Lothrop, and Perry can now stream movies, music, TV shows, eAudiobooks and comics for free through Hoopla, a library-based video streaming service.

“We strive to offer a wide variety of materials and services that meet the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of our community,” said Jami Cromley, Director at Community District Library. “By offering Hoopla digital, we’re able to give patrons at our seven branch locations 24/7 access to the library and thousands of educational and popular titles, to accommodate their varying interests. With the service’s free content, easy-to- use interface and elimination of late fees, we’ve been able to enhance our collection and library experience more than ever.”

Videos stream directly to your mobile device through the hoopla app or through your web browser on a PC. Mobile device users can also download a temporary copy of content for playing offline if necessary. Patrons will need a valid e-mail address and CDL library card to access this service. Visit www.mycdl.org to begin enjoying thousands of titles instantly.
