VANDALISM TO A SIGN in front of the Child Advocacy Center at 1216 W. Main St., Owosso occurred last weekend. The exact time of the crime is not known, though employees believe it probably happened over Saturday night (Sept. 16). The sign, which was mounted to the top of a rock foundation, has been present at the facility since 2006. A board member passing by was the first to notice the sign had been vandalized.

CAPC (Child Abuse Prevention Council) Executive Director, Ellen Lynch, shared, “To our dismay, it was completely broken off. The community has been wonderful, though. Within 24 hours, over two-dozen people had offered to replace it. This community is just amazing.”

CAPC is a nonprofit organization that assists children suspected of experiencing abuse.

The vandalism was reported to the Owosso Police Department and remains under investigation. Anyone wishing to share related information on this wrongdoing, can call the police at (989) 725-0580.
