The Owosso Community Players production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will hold auditions Monday, Dec. 12 and Tuesday, Dec. 13 at the Lebowsky Center, 122 E. Main St., in Owosso. Please enter through the front doors of the theater.
Auditions for the children’s chorus (youth through 8th grade) will be held at 5 p.m. with adult auditions taking place at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. for youth and 6:30 p.m. for adults to sign-in.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is the biblical saga of Joseph, his eleven brothers, and his coat of many colors. This vibrant show comes to life in the delightful musical parable with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Set to engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n’ roll, this Old Testament tale emergences both timely and timeless.
Adults auditioning are asked to come prepared with a song not from the show. Children are asked to come prepared with a song to sing of their choosing. All who audition will be taught a dance at the audition. Please come prepared with a list of potential conflicts. The cast features 16 male and two female principal roles, along with a chorus of men and women and a children’s chorus.
