THE LAINGSBURG FFA had 49 students attend the Michigan FFA State Convention at Michigan State University from Wednesday, March 7 through Friday, March 9. The group had 21 students participate in State Leadership contests, 27 compete in the Arthur Berkey AgriScience Fair, and one delegate. The Laingsburg FFA Chapter was also recognized with a National Chapter Silver Award and National Superior Chapter Award.
The Junior High Conduct of Meetings team, consisting of Danielle Miller, Curtis Antcliff, Grant Goetschy, Emily Gutzman, Alyse Rowley, Ella Kay and Grace Marfio, received a Silver Award.
The Greenhand Conduct of Meetings team, consisting of Gabby Paquet, Amelia Hurst, Grace Graham, Dawson Shastal, Jordan Langdon, Hayleigh Mertens, Saige Wurm and Shaily Baynes, received a Silver Award.
The Parliamentary Procedure team, consisting of Logan Hagerty, Reanna Byrnes, Mariah Byrnes, Elena Kozachik, Morgan Gentner and Chase Rodriquez, received a Silver Award.
In the Arthur Berkey AgriScience Fair, Joshua Baker and Lucas Woodruff earned a Bronze Award, Chloe Smith and Autumn Michels earned a Bronze Award, Saige Wurm and Grace Graham earned a Silver Award, and Tyler Scanlan and Dawson Shastal earned a Silver Award. Also, Zachary Hawes and Brady Buchan earned a Bronze Award, Maxim Kibzey and Tyler Henne earned a Silver Award, and Zachary Koerner and Nicholas Woodbury earned a Bronze Award. Gabby Paquet and Shaily Baynes were state winners and earned a Gold Award, as were Zachary Fortino and Taylor Zdenahlik.
