THESE TEACHERS AS LIFELONG LEARNERS CLUB (TALL) members volunteer within the local school districts in hopes of enriching and making a positive impact on the lives of local students. The student organization is for all education and early childhood education majors studying at Baker College of Owosso. Those shown include (from left) TALL Club President Kaitlinn Earley, TALL Club members Cole Smith, Carisa Kramer and Robert Kerr Principal Amy Holek. Unavailable for photo was TALL Club’s Adviser Pam Carlson. Over the past few months, the TALL Club has teamed up with Robert Kerr Elementary in Durand for a program reinforcing positive recess behavior called, ‘Caught Being Kind.’ TALL Club members visited Robert Kerr over the past few months during recess, and handed out golden tickets to students who exhibited positive recess behavior. On Wednesday, June 8, TALL Club members visited Robert Kerr one last time during this school year to award the students who received a golden ticket at a school wide assembly. During the assembly, one random student from each grade was selected to receive a grand prize for their positive behavior. Advised by Pam Carlson, the focus of TALL Club is not only to enrich the lives of local students, but also to prepare Baker College’s Teacher Preparation students with real life teaching experiences.
