Ovid, Michigan – The Ovid Police Department released additional information about the incident on Thursday.
According to a social media post, Ovid police responded to Warren Rd just outside of Ovid at 8:19 a.m. to assist Shiawassee Deputies. Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested one suspect on outstanding warrants; however, the second suspect fled on foot.
At 9:39 a.m., that suspect was spotted at the Michigan Milk Producers Association, where he was caught on camera.
At 11:15 a.m., police learned that a 2015 white Chevy Silverado had been stolen from the Association’s employee parking lot. The truck is still missing.
The suspect is still on the loose. Anyone with information is asked to call Clinton County 911 or Shiawassee County 911.
The person arrested is currently being held in the Shiawassee County Jail. Police did not provide any additional information about the shelter-in-place order or the alleged knife.
As of 12:02 p.m., police believe the individual has left the area and have lifted the shelter-in-place order.
Residents in Ovid are being asked to lock their doors and vehicles because an individual is believed to be carrying a knife. Police are looking for the person pictured below and have asked residents to check their cameras.
Police are looking for a white 2025 Chevy Silverado with a faded flag on the back window and license plate EUF0577. The vehicle is thought to have been stolen from the Michigan Milk Producers Association. It was last seen at the Shepherdsville corner store around 9:54 a.m.
The person was last seen wearing black pants with a white stripe down the side and a grey jacket that was turned inside out. He stands 5’11” and weighs 135 pounds. He has black hair, blue eyes, and a thin build. Residents are asked to call 911 if they see him.
