The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced the closure of its Office of Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity (OCREO) as part of a larger effort to streamline resources and improve operational efficiency. Employees from this office will be placed on administrative leave beginning immediately as the agency reallocates its functions.

“President Trump has mandated that the federal government eliminate wasteful and inefficient offices, and the Office of Transformation is a prime example,” said Lee Dudek, Acting Commissioner of Social Security. “This redundant office was created under the previous administration and we are righting that wrong.”
