Retirees in group 1 will receive their benefits in the first week of April, while the rest will have to wait a little longer. When does the April Social Security payment arrive?
Given that the first April Social Security payments will be sent on the third of the month, we can be confident that the first group of retirees will receive their checks very soon. However, this group consists of retirees who received their benefits prior to May 1997.
Retirees with benefits after May 1997 can receive their payment in the following weeks, but we must consider another requirement:
- April 9th. Payment for retirees with birthdays between the 1st and the 10th of the month.
- April 16th. Payment for retirees with birthdays between the 11th and the 20th of the month.
- April 23rd. Payment for retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month.
So, if you received a Social Security benefit after May 1997, you must look at these payment dates and mark one or the other on the April calendar based on whether your birthday is before or after.
What is the maximum Social Security check with COLA 2025?
COLA 2025 went into effect in January 2025, and retirees who have maximized their benefits may receive checks of up to $5,180 per month. However, each retiree receives a different payment depending on their work history.
The April 2025 check will be the same amount as previous months, so we will receive the payment we received in March, February, or January of this year. We will not see any further increases in Social Security benefits until 2026.
