Saturday, July 18, Sleepy Hollow State Park in Clinton County and the Oldsmobile Outdoor Club will be hosting a Youth Outdoor Education Day at the Archery Range area, a quarter mile inside the park entrance.

Youth will have the opportunity to participate in many hands-on activities: archery, hiking, geocaching, casting and pellet gun shooting. Quality Deer Management will be onsite with an antler display. Persons can learn trapping basics from a local trapper, see how the DNR ages deer and view many ice fishing displays from around the world.

The event will run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free to attend. All vehicles entering the park must have a Recreation Passport. The Recreation Passport may be purchased at the park the day of the event for $11 for Michigan registered vehicles. Parking will be located in the East Picnic Area with access to the event for handicapped individuals.

Sleepy Hollow State Park, 7835 E. Price Road near Laingsburg, is approximately 7 miles east of U.S.-127.

Questions about the event may be directed to Michelle Trowbridge or Denise Smith at Sleepy Hollow, (517)-651-6217.
