THE SHIFT SHOP, located at 4345 W. Lansing Rd. in Perry, celebrated the grand opening of its new location, which was marked with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Oct. 24, organized by the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce ambassadors. Holding the chamber’s oversized scissors are owners Heidi and Sean Stout. They are surrounded by family, staff, city officials, and chamber ambassadors.

The Shift Shop opened in Morrice 12 years ago, but quickly outgrew that space approximately six years later. Three years ago, Heidi quit her job to help in the office full time. The new shop in Perry Township is much larger. The couple’s son, Nick, 22, has been working for them since he was 16, and Brian Cole, another employee, has been working for them for 11 years. The Stouts have another son, Owen, who is 14.

The Shift Shop specializes in transmissions, both foreign and domestic, including transfer cases, differentials, clutches, and general repair. They are open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
