The 2019 Shiawassee Home Garden Business EXPO is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10 at Owosso High School. The event is presented by LAFCU, Vinyl Sash, Crooked Tree Nursery, Memorial Healthcare and All Weather Seal. New to the EXPO in 2019 are specially-designed, canvas beach totes that are free to the first 100 paid admissions on both Saturday and Sunday.

“There are many new businesses participating in the EXPO, and consumers will see a wide variety of products and services,” shared EXPO Chairman Kevin Maurer, of Maurer Heating & Cooling. “The Downtown Owosso Farmers Market has again created an ‘Indoor Winter Market,’ which will offer all of your favorite summertime vendors like The Cheese People, Hillbilly Gourmet Fudge and Happy Girl Granola, just to name a few. This will be an exciting event!”

Restaurant Row returns this year, and great food may be purchased all day Saturday and Sunday, featuring favorite dishes from The Fortune House, Granny’s Kitchen, Rivals Taphouse, Boy Scouts and Korean specialties from the 5-2-Oh food truck.

Electronics and appliance recycling will return to The Home Garden Business EXPO. Thanks to Owosso Iron & Metal, there will be a recycling truck in the Owosso High School parking lot during the EXPO. Items that will be accepted include: any household appliances, car batteries and electronic waste such as computers, cell phones and flat screen TVs.

The DreamTicket Grand Prize Drawing will be for a $750 Home Depot gift card, thanks to event sponsor PFCU. Second-place is a WiFi thermostat from Maurer Heating & Cooling. Third prize is a $50 gas card courtesy of PFCU. Door prizes will be drawn every hour, and there will be 50/50 tickets for sale. Many vendors will also be offering giveaways and free merchandise in their booths.

Kid’s Day is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, with free activities just for the little ones, sponsored by HG Contracting, LLC. Kid’s Day will include a kid’s scavenger hunt for prizes, and one lucky winner will receive a bike from House of Wheels in Owosso – a $300 value. Home Depot will be giving away wood-craft kits.

The 2019 EXPO will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 10. General admission is $5 per person 18 years and older, and those 62 years or better will be admitted for $4. Anyone under 18 years of age will be admitted for free.
