Shiawassee Council on Aging is hosting the following activities and events for the first part of June. On Friday, June 3 at 12:30 p.m. the center will host a Beach Party. A podiatrist will visit on Wednesday, June 8; appointments are required for his services. Also on Wednesday, June 8 at 12:30 p.m., the Consumer Educational Program will speak on “In Home Care.” Chad Ruest from Mid-Michigan Hearing will offer hearing tests on Friday, June 11 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. His services are free and based on a first come, first served basis. The last Tech Support Program will be Monday, June 13 from 3 to 4 p.m. until fall. Reservations are not required, but they are appreciated.
The center hosts bingo every Monday following lunch. The euchre group continues to meet Monday and Thursday afternoons at 1:30 p.m., and Pedro is played on the second Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. Exercise class is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. In addition, the center will host an Alzheimer’s Support Group on June 13 and 27 at noon and a Diabetic Support Group on Friday, June 11 at 1 p.m.
Lunch is served three days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon; if you are interested in coming, please call the center at (517) 625-4270 or come in the day prior to make your reservation for the next day.
