The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on I-69 near Bath Road on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The preliminary investigation shows that a westbound pickup truck lost control, crossed the median and hit an eastbound semi-truck, ejecting the driver of the pickup onto the expressway. A black sedan, possibly a four-door, then came in contact with the body but left the scene.

The deceased is a 51-year-old male from Morrice, James Edward Ware. The sheriff’s office is requesting that the driver of the black sedan, or anyone with information regarding the accident, to call (989) 743-3411, ext. 7223.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Perry and Laingsburg police departments, the Laingsburg Fire Department and EMS, the Shiawassee County Road Commission and Shiawassee County Central Dispatch.
