THE 5TH-ANNUAL SHIAWASSEE COUNTY FAIR SEMI TRUCK LIGHT PARADE was a big hit on Saturday, Aug. 6, as hundreds of Corunna/Owosso residents lined the streets to experience the hair-raising experience provided by the National Association of Show Trucks (NAST). The organization, based out of Florida, is known for its annual Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show in St. Ignace that includes a truck parade across the Mackinac Bridge, in addition to other events held in Michigan and Kentucky.

While this was the fifth year that the Shiawassee County Fair has hosted the semi truck show, 2016 was NAST’s first year of participation. The semi truck show and light parade were well-attended, and parade spectators were nearly blown away by the large trucks and their loud air horns. The parade included 44 trucks, with spectators young and old lining the parade route, urging the truckers to lay on their horns.         (Independent Photo/Graham Sturgeon)
