SafeCenter would like to express their gratitude to all those who helped make the 8th Annual Weaving the Vision Dinner and Silent Auction a success. The dinner was held on Thursday, April 28 at the Hawk Hollow Golf Club and featured Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein as the keynote speaker.
The auction featured over 50 items that were donated by local community merchants and members. Those in attendance included many political figures as well as 130 individuals. Some of those represented were: Representative Tom Leonard, Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein, Circuit Court Judge Michelle Rick, Circuit Court Judge Matthew Stewart, Circuit Court Judge Laura Baird, Circuit Court Judge Janice Cunningham, Probate Court Judge Kristin Bakker, District Court Judge Michael Clarizio,
Clinton County Prosecutor Charles Sherman, Dewitt Charter Township Trustee Johanna Balzer, State Representative Ben Glardon as well as Owosso City Council Representatives Lori Bailey and Elaine Greenway.
All proceeds raised at the event go directly to providing services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in Clinton and Shiawassee County. SafeCenter is a nonprofit agency whose vision is for all individuals to experience the right to be free from violence. Their mission is to build comprehensive and sustainable community strategies to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in Clinton and Shiawassee Counties.
