SafeCenter is excited to welcome Justice Richard Bernstein as the featured speaker at its annual Weaving the Vision Dinner and Silent Auction to be held on Thursday, April 28 at Hawk Hollow Golf Club in Bath.

Justice Richard Bernstein became the first blind justice, elected by voters statewide, to the Michigan Supreme Court in Nov. 2014. With a commitment to justice and fairness, Bernstein began his eight-year term in Jan. 2015. Justice Bernstein is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan and earned his juris doctorate from Northwestern University School of Law. Before his election to the Michigan Supreme Court, Bernstein’s cases often set national standards protecting the rights and safety of people.

Some of the items available in the silent auction includes: three day stay at theHomestead in Glen Arbor; fishing charter, Ludington; MSU homecoming football game tickets; sports memorabilia; handmade quilts; gift certificates and other items from vendors and local establishments.

Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased by visiting thesafecenter.org/pages/News-Events or calling (989) 723-9716. All proceeds of this event support SafeCenter services which include emergency shelter, counseling and advocacy, transitional supportive housing, awareness and outreach.
