Jeremy Root is announcing his bid for re-election to the Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners. “It has been my distinct honor and privilege to serve as your District 5 representative. I am proud that I have faithfully kept my promises that were made in the last election,” Root says about his re-election bid.
He adds, “Having been chairman of the committee of the whole and finance and administration chairman, it gave me invaluable experience to help lead this county to a balanced budget and to some sensible solutions in problem solving. I also served on the public safety and courts committee, along with 9-11 central dispatch, and community corrections boards. If re-elected, I will continue my belief in ethics, accountability, and common sense in government. I have made myself available to all the residents of Shiawassee County by being approachable and honest. I will always put the best county goals above any personal goals; always remembering that I am a public servant. I wish to continue to represent you in a trustworthy fashion. I will continue to challenge any person or issue that is not in your best interest. I have stood firm against any hiring of a county administrator/coordinator and will continue to do so. I have strongly supported the MSU extension, Veterans, and seniors in this county.”
In hopes of gaining the support of voters for the election, Root says, “We need to return to a point of positive momentum and reform and continue to move Shiawassee County forward. I would be honored to continue to serve as your District 5 county commissioner. With your help, we can continue this effort. To do so, I will need your vote in the Republican primary on August 2.”
