Raising Cane’s, which recently opened its first Metro Detroit location in Canton, intends to expand significantly in Michigan.
The national chicken fingers chain intends to open nearly two dozen restaurants throughout the state.
According to a spokesperson who spoke with MLive, Cane’s plans to open 20 additional restaurants in Michigan over the next decade.
“We have a huge pipeline coming up with more restaurants in Michigan,” Dustin Shearer, Raising Cane’s Vice President of Company Restaurants, told MLive. “We love the energy and excitement Raising Cane’s has garnered across Michigan and hope to bring our brand to more of the state.”
Cane’s tells MLive that it intends to expand its Metro Detroit restaurant network to include locations in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Mount Pleasant, and Saginaw.
Raising Cane’s will open its first restaurant in Michigan in October 2022, in East Lansing. The Canton location (44218 Ford Road) followed at the start of this month.
The chicken chain’s third Ann Arbor location (1116 South University Ave.) will open on June 3. We know of another future location in Portage, at Milham and Westnedge Avenues.
The restaurant’s menu is small and straightforward. The restaurant chain offers 24-hour marinated chicken fingers and sandwiches, as well as crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, sweet tea, and freshly squeezed lemonade. It is also well-known for its dipping sauce, Cane’s.
“It’s made fresh every day,” Shearer explained. “We don’t even have the recipe at the restaurant. Our managers make it every morning to start the day. It’s tangy with a hint of spice and pairs well with everything.
