ROD STUART, and his wife, Betty (not pictured), of 324 N. Madison Street, Perry, received recognition during the Thursday, Oct. 1, Perry City Council meeting for the October “Perry Pride Award.”
As the October winner, Stuart received a commemorative plaque and gift certificate from Darling Hardware as well as having his name engraved on a larger commemorative plaque that will be displayed in City Hall.
The focus of the new subjective residential award is to recognize excellence of residents in maintaining their home and yard, thus generating “Perry Pride.”
Councilman Christopher Powell (left), nominated Stuart as well as presenting the plaque and gift certificate to him during the council meeting. Powell also praised the following Honorable Mentions: Richard and Judy Lewis, 635 N. Watkins Street; Gary and Judy Galbavi, 639 N. Watkins Street; and Richard and Jackie Hohenstein, 330 N. Madison Street.
This was the final “Perry Pride” competition of the year. The residents’ award program will begin again in May 2016.
A map of the “Designated Neighborhoods” will be available on the city’s website, www.perry.mi.us when the program begins. Persons can look for the link under “Event Photos.” (Courtesy Photo)
