PERRY POLICE OFFICER Michael Monroe (right) was officially promoted to the rank of sergeant Thursday, Nov. 5, which Perry Chief of Police Kyle Bawks (left) announced during the Perry City Council that evening.
Sgt. Monroe has worked with the Perry Police Department since July 2005. After graduation from the Flint Police Academy in March 2000, Monroe served with the Flint Police Department, Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and Genesee Township Police Department.
Prior to his career in law enforcement, Monroe served with the United States Air Force, 1991 to 1997, when he was honorably discharged. Sgt. Monroe is an avid outdoorsman, hunter and family man. (Courtesy Photo)
