FOUNDING PASTOR HONORED – The Immanuel Baptist Church of Corunna surprised their founder and pastor, Dr. Douglas Levesque, with a new Chevy Silverado on Sunday, Aug. 2.

Levesque is stepping away from his day-to-day pastoral duties to begin a statewide speaking tour, and his church bought him a new truck to use on his upcoming journey. Levesque will be replaced as head pastor by Associate Pastor Jason Georges.

Levesque had the hard decision of choosing between the red and the blue trucks, both of which were provided by Young Chevrolet/Cadillac of Owosso.

Levesque will be speaking on behalf of the Immanuel Church’s Bible Nation Society and promoting the release of his second book on the speaking tour, but he will still find time to visit his faithful congregation. His wife Amy will continue to run the church’s day school, which educates roughly 100 children daily. (Independent Photo/GRAHAM STURGEON)
