THE OWOSSO HIGH SCHOOL HAUNTCERT took place in the crowded auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and featured only the OHS Freshman and OHS Jazz bands. The Hauntcert focused on Halloween music, including “Through Darkened Sleepy Hollow” and “The Magic of Harry Potter” by the OHS Freshman band, conducted by Jillian Schlegel Kowalczyk. The Jazz band, conducted by Jordan Sterk, presented “Witchcraft” and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” During the “Thriller” performance, the audience was entertained by student zombie dancers.
All of the students dressed accordingly for the festive event. Donald Duck, Uncle Sam, Ninja Turtles, a witch doctor, a Minion, and various monsters and ghouls, took the stage to entertain the full house.
The TMB Trojan Spectacular event is planned for Wednesday, Nov. 8 and will include both the Freshman and TMB. The Freshman band will also be participating in the Veterans Day Parade in Corunna on Saturday, Nov. 11.
The Owosso High School Trojan Marching Band (TMB) kept a 60-year tradition going during the Monday, Oct. 9 Michigan School Band and Orchestra District V Marching Festival with a first division rating in all captions. The Owosso TMB has earned this score at every marching festival since 1957.
