With a tent in the 200 block of W. Exchange, downtown Owosso, that is bigger than the first year in 2014, the 2015 Oktoberfest, sponsored by the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce will also have a larger beverage serving area than last year said Chamber President/CEO Jeff Deason.

**For Friday, Oct. 9, 3 to 11 p.m., there will be vendor food service. At 5 p.m. and going to 7 p.m. will be the St Julian VIP Wine Tasting Party in the Oktoberfest Tent.

At 6:15 p.m. in front of the chamber building, 215 N. Water, it will be “The Beer Run” 5K Walk/Run with an awards ceremony at 7 p.m. Also at 7 p.m. will be “Give My Regards to Broadway” at First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, Washington at Williams streets (barrier free entrance in the northeast corner of the building).

In the Oktoberfest Tent on Exchange Street, 8 to 11 p.m., it will be live music by The Stolen Horses Band.

**For Saturday, Oct. 10, vendor food service will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. At noon in the Oktoberfest Tent will be the ceremonial “Tapping of the Keg” by Owosso Mayor Ben Frederick. For 1 to 4 p.m. will be Children’s Activities, which include bounce houses, pumpkin carving and pumpkin bowling. For 1 to 4 p.m., it will be Bubble Ball at The Amphitheater for the HOPE Project. Noon to 4 p.m. in the event tent will be Registration for “Beer Stein Endurance Contest.”

At 1 p.m. will be Bed Races to benefit the Shiawassee County Homeless Coalition. For 3 to 5 p.m., it will be Happy Hour at the Oktoberfest Tent featuring Buy One Get One Free armbands. At 3:30 p.m. will be Polka lessons in Main Tent with Joe and Sue Oginsky.

Then, 5 to 11 p.m. it will be Polka music by Lenny Gomulka & The Chicago Push along with the One More Shot Band. At 8 p.m. will be a Beer Stein Endurance Contest.

**For Sunday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. in the Oktoberfest Tent will be a Community Church Service. For 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be vendor food service. Noon to 6 p.m. will be W.O.D. Cross-fit competition. At noon will be live entertainment by the Drum Circle. For 1 to 3 p.m., there will be Pop Folk music by Johnny Carroll. To wrap up, 3 to 5 p.m. will be “Half-Price Beer, “Drink the truck dry.”
