Officials restrict roads and ramps near Frandor because of flooding

Lansing, Michigan — Flooding has forced officials to close a portion of Kalamazoo Street near U.S. 127, as well as the exit ramps from northbound U.S. 127 and eastbound I-496.

At 8:45 p.m., the water had shut down Kalamazoo Street between Detroit Street and Clippert.

Near Frandor, there are several businesses, including Bake N’ Cakes, Steakhouse Philly Bar & Grill, and Ace Rug Cleaners.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the flooding, but the Red Cedar River had risen significantly following heavy rain earlier this week.
