Volunteers are needed for a Leaf Raking Day at Oak Hill Cemetery, 1101 S. Washington, 10 a.m. into the afternoon Saturday, Oct 24. Persons are asked to take along rakes and tarps if they have one.

Cemetery staff will coordinate raking to roadways, just leaving room for cars visiting to drive on the roads. A light pizza lunch will be furnished for those raking on Saturday’s Clean Up Day. Friends of Oak Hill Cemetery will have an information table and assist throughout the day. Heavy rain or wind, cancels. For more, persons may contact Sharon and Jim Van Pelt, (989) 277-4217; Josh Adams, (989) 277-1553.

“As volunteers, we participate solely at our own risk and hold harmless Oak Hill Cemetery and Friends of Oak Hill Cemetery for any loss of personal property or injury,” said Sharon Van Pelt. “Operations has emphasized if it’s windy all should leave the cemetery due to the danger of possibilities of falling limbs from the many trees.” Rain date will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
