National Railroad Memorial Inc. (NRMI) Secretary and co-founder Janice Brownson has presented the Durand City Council with NRMI’s new logos and website that was designed with the help of Message Makers of Lansing. NRMI, was established in 2010 by Janice and her late husband Dallas. It was put together to bring a national railroad memorial to Durand’s Diamond District Park, and the website is a big step in the process. The website, which can be found at www.railroadmemorial.org, features the history of the organization, and more importantly, it provides information on the group’s sponsorship package. The main logo is circular and features a railroad worker superimposed on top of a steam locomotive, and the secondary logo is a shield that will “honor and remember” the many railroad veterans that the memorial will commemorate. Brownson personally thanked City Manager Amy Roddy and Councilman Dr. Brian Boggs “for their input from the city’s perspective. (Independent Photo/GRAHAM STURGEON)
