MUNDY TWP, MI – With its approach to tasty flavors and cuisine, Smash House Gourmet aims to elevate the dining experience in the Flint area.
Ron Newton’s new restaurant aims to be unrivaled in the area, with a fresh take on smash burgers and other gourmet delights that promise a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
Smash House Gourmet opened at 5516 Fenton Road in Mundy Township, replacing The Burger Bar & Tap.
Starting Tuesday, January 21, the restaurant will open its takeout section from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, giving customers a preview of what’s to come while the full dining area is being finished.
Guests can place their orders directly online, via DoorDash, or Uber Eats.
Smash House Gourmet will debut its “Social House” section in the spring, a dine-in experience that will combine great food with a vibrant atmosphere for up to 130 guests.
This addition will allow guests to enjoy an upscale yet approachable dining space for socializing with friends, family, or coworkers.
Smash House is also available seasonally at the new Railyard Fenton as a shipping container.
Newton envisions the Social House as a community hub, with approximately 25 TVs inside for sports viewing.
He was inspired to open his own restaurant and help meet people’s dietary needs.
“I’m a foodie myself,” Newton admitted. “I have developed a palate, and I have food allergies. There are some great restaurants in the area, but they don’t offer much of a gluten-free, healthy experience.”
Burgers, hot dogs, flatbreads, tacos, and chicken tenders are among the menu’s most popular items.
For those seeking something more refined, high-end dishes such as salmon and filet are available, with a heavy emphasis on gluten-free options.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of cocktails and craft beers to complement their meals.
“Our ingredients are very clean and good,” Newton explained, adding that everything is made from scratch. “We will use a variety of seasonings, so the palate will be diverse. When you see that on the menu, it will make a difference in this competition.”
