VA Disability payments for qualified U.S. citizens are deposited into their bank accounts every month. If you have one of these checks, you will soon be able to use the money regularly, as the first payment for 2025 is coming to American households.
We are discussing the VA Disability payment for January 2025, and the check will be sent out in the next few weeks. Keep in mind that the amount of each check varies based on each person’s circumstances.
So, being eligible for one type of benefit does not mean you qualify for another. Unlike Social Security retirement checks that are sent out at different times during the month, VA checks are all mailed on the same day to recipients.
When does the new VA Disability payment arrive
The new payment will be sent on January 31, 2025. This will be the first payment of the year, so we can enjoy this new benefit if we receive a check.
After the payment on January 31st, we will keep the same amount for the rest of 2025. Keep in mind that the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) increased all benefit and retirement payments.
Just remember that on January 31, you will receive this payment, and it will be higher than last year’s amount for 2024. In 2025, a person who is fully dependent can receive up to $3,830. Although it is true anyway that not all beneficiaries of this benefit can get this check.
Can I apply for a check to supplement VA Disability?
There is a Social Security benefit that works well with VA Disability. This benefit is called Supplemental Security Income (SSI). If you receive a check, you can apply for this extra payment.
To receive a monthly SSI payment, you must be 65 years old or older, or you must have a disability. You also need a low monthly income, along with having few resources. The highest payment for this benefit is $967 in 2025 and it is usually received on the 1st of each month, although there may be a few exceptions.
