NEW BUSINESS – The village of Lennon welcomed a new business to its downtown business district Monday, Jan. 11, as “Diva On A Dime” opened at 11931 Lennon Road. Store owners Glenn and Marla Brisbin took a moment to pose for a picture Monday while getting situated in their new space.
The owners’ motto is, “A dress for every girl, a price for every budget,” and the store will feature formal dresses for sale and rent for girls on a budget. Marla reports that every item in the store can be purchased for $40 or less. Also, persons can rent dresses for $20 with a $20 deposit.
The Brisbins are Corunna residents and were inspired to open their new store after shopping for formal dresses with their granddaughter last year. “Not everyone can afford to spend $300 to $400 on a dress that they will use one time, and online prices are not much better,” Marla said Wednesday.
In addition to formal dresses, the store’s inventory also includes broaches, headbands and hairpieces. Additionally, customers can rent or purchase capes with their dresses to protect themselves from the cold weather often associated with prom and homecoming events. The Brisbans also intend to offer nail and hair design in the near future.
