The 10th annual Morrice Homecoming Festival, an Independence Day Celebration, on Saturday, June 27, is featuring three new attractions this year. Kiddy rides, inflatables and Yoder’s Exotic Animals will be joining the Festival this year. Also the Road Riders for Jesus will be sponsoring a bike show and swap meet.
The day starts with the Webberville Garden Tractor pulls held on Morrice Road next to the tennis courts. At noon will be children’s games, putt-putt golf, a petting zoo with pony rides, kiddy rides and inflatables, Yoder’s Exotic Animals and crafters, all located at the Morrice Football Field.
“Remember to grab lunch at the Morrice United Church. They are offering a salad luncheon and then a kids’ xbike decorating contest,” said organizers. “At the Morrice Community Park you can enjoy the bike show and swap meet (with all proceeds going to a local family), a corn hole tournament and beer gardens sponsored by the Morrice Field of Dreams.
“The Grand Marshal ceremonies honoring Dick and Lura Bolek will be at the Village Hall followed by a parade downtown featuring many entries. Come check out the live entertainment at the football field. This year King Karaoke starts us out, followed by the ‘Playin’ with Jacks’ band.
“The daylong event concludes at dusk with an amazing firework display that is a must see! There are a number of fireworks sponsors. There are available spaces for crafters and volunteers are always needed.
“Even though the deadline has passed for the sponsor board, please don’t miss your chance to promote your business. The Festival is funded solely by your generosity. Without your support, there may not be a future Festival. If interested, please contact Morrice Village Hall, (517) 625-4270, or Kim, (517) 625-1622. Plus you can always visit our website morrice.mi.us for future information.
“The next festival meeting is 2 p.m. June 9 at the Village Hall. Please note that all events, times and location are subject to change.”
