A crash involving several vehicles and semis occurred on Monday morning.

The FOX 17 Weather Warrior was on the scene and has been reporting back.

Michigan State Police issued an update on social media, stating that at least two semis and approximately 15 vehicles were involved.

The crash occurred just before 10:30 a.m. on I-96 eastbound near Alpine Ave and the US-131 interchange.

The freeway reopened at Alpine Avenue shortly before 12:15 p.m.

According to Michigan State Police, another accident on I-96 at US-131 involved several vehicles. Road conditions are poor, with temperatures in the single digits making salt ineffective at melting snow or ice from the pavement.

The wind is also blowing snow, making it difficult to see far enough ahead to maintain the posted speed limit. MSP warns drivers to take it slowly.
