Mother and son sentenced to decades in prison for woman's 2022 gunshot death

Flint, Michigan – A man and his mother were sentenced to prison for shooting and killing a 20-year-old woman in 2022.

In February, a jury found Grand Blanc Township residents Deondre Dawayne McLilly, 25, and his 49-year-old mother, Windy Marie Weatherford, guilty of shooting Alicia Jackson-Skaggs in the parking lot of the Golden Corral on Miller Road in Flint Township. Jackson-Skaggs died of her injuries.

McLilly was found guilty on 26 counts, some of which include:

  • One count of second-degree murder
  • Five counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm
  • Two counts of aggravated stalking
  • One count of resisting and obstructing police
  • Over 12 related firearm charges

On Monday, March 10, McLilly was sentenced to a minimum of 39.5 years and a maximum of 102 years in prison, with credit for 346 days already served.

Weatherford was found guilty of the following 19 felonies:

  • One count of second-degree murder
  • Five counts of assault with intent to murder
  • 13 related firearm charges.

Also on Monday, Weatherford was sentenced to a minimum of 33.25 years and a maximum of 102 years in prison, with credit for 347 days already served.
