Shiawassee Council on Aging: Morrice Senior Center is hosting the following activities and events for the second part of November. On Monday, Nov. 13, from 3 to 4 p.m., is Tech Support with the help of the Morrice Honor Society.
On Wednesday, Nov. 15, there will be an art class featuring cat and bird acrylic painting from 12:30 to 2 p.m. There is a $3 fee for those 60 years of age and older, and a $45 fee for those under the age of 60. Reservations are required. Also on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m., is a SCOA board meeting.
On Saturday, Nov. 18, the site committee will hold a bake sale at Carl’s Market in Perry beginning at 11 a.m. On Monday, Nov. 20, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., free blood checks will be offered by Right at Home. On Monday, Nov. 27, the Morrice Site Committee will hold its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Also on Monday, Nov. 27, the center is asking for help decorating its Christmas tree at 1 p.m.
Wii bowling is now offered at the center at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays. Please note, there will not be Wii bowling on Wednesday, Nov. 22. The center hosts bingo every Monday following lunch. The euchre group continues to meet at 1:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday, and Pedro is played at 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. Exercise class is held at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. In addition, the center will host an Alzheimer’s Support Group at noon on Monday, Nov. 13 and 27.
Lunch is served at noon every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Anyone interested in attending is asked to please call the center at (517) 625-4270, or come in the day prior to make your reservation. The center is now open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For further information, individuals can call the center or stop by at 101 W. Mason St. in Morrice. The center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 in observance of Thanksgiving.
