In partnership with the United Methodist Church Care Network, a distribution of free – fresh and non-perishable food items will be available at the Mobile Food Pantry for Shiawassee County residents. If you or someone you know must choose between buying food, filling prescriptions, or has a tough time putting food on the table, please pass along this important information, commented organizers.

Food distribution will be on Saturday, Sept. 17 with registration at 9 a.m. until noon or until all the food is distributed in the Comstock parking lot, behind the bowling alley off Jerome Ave., with parking in the lot near Owosso Cinemas.

Organizers are encouraging senior citizens on fixed incomes, families/individuals with limited or low income jobs, and only residents of Shiawassee County to participate in this event. Proof of residency will be required with a valid driver’s license or Michigan ID and one piece of mail delivered to where you live in Shiawassee County. Participants must bring their own boxes, bags, or containers to carry food.
