THE “FOR SALE” sign was placed early this month in front of the landmark home at 900 W. Oliver in Owosso where industrialist/philanthropist Don Mitchell had lived for many years. The listing price is $699,000.
The listing says it was built in 1920. At one time, it was the home of the George W. Campbell family until sold to Don Mitchell. No one lived in the home for a number of years after Don Mitchell’s widow, Metta, died. It was maintained by their son, Bill Mitchell, who died in April 2014.
