Cassopolis, MI – Snowfall in Cass and Berrien counties is expected to make travel hazardous until Tuesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday. An additional two inches of snow is expected, adding to the slick conditions already present on roads, bridges, and overpasses.
Officials warn that Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes could be especially dangerous. Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speeds, leave extra space between vehicles, and exercise caution.
This advisory applies to Cass, Northern, and Southern Berrien counties. The hazardous conditions may cause delays in travel and increase the likelihood of accidents, particularly on untreated surfaces.
Residents are encouraged to check the latest road conditions by dialing 511 or going to the Michigan Department of Transportation website.
Allow extra time for travel, make sure your vehicle is winter-ready, and avoid unnecessary trips if possible. Snow is expected to taper off by early Tuesday, with conditions improving throughout the day.
Stay informed and plan ahead to safely navigate the remaining effects of this winter storm.
