Michigan snowfall total predictions See how much your area will receive during the winter storm

According to the National Weather Service, most of Michigan will see accumulating snowfall beginning Friday and continuing through the weekend.

Winter weather advisories are in effect for parts of the Upper and Lower Peninsulas, including the entire southeast Michigan region.

The warning for Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties is valid from 1 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday.

Most of southeast Michigan is expected to get 2 to 4 inches of snow. Peak snowfall rates are expected between 2 and 8 p.m., with rates of more than a quarter inch per hour possible. The intensity will decrease overnight.

Drivers should be prepared for slippery road conditions that may disrupt Friday’s evening commute.
