Michigan saw more than 14 inches of snow in some spots. Where it fell

Following a Winter Storm Warning and a “coast to coast” snowstorm forecast, Michigan residents are waking up to a few inches of snow in their yards.

According to the National Weather Service, Michigan has received 1-5 inches of snow in the last 24 hours due to intermittent snowfall, the majority of which occurred overnight.

While the majority of this weekend’s snow has already fallen, the National Weather Service says more may fall on Sunday.

Forecast Sunday and next week

The National Weather Service said an additional 1-4 inches of snowfall is expected today , with the eastern Thumb seeing the highest accumulation.

Temperatures are expected to be well below normal early to midweek next week, the weather service says.
