Zonta of East Lansing Area, Redeemer United Methodist Church of Dewitt and the American Legion Riders Post #57 of Owosso provided Thanksgiving to the families served by SafeCenter. The Zonta Club of East Lansing Area provided Thanksgiving baskets to stock 23 SafeCenter transitional housing families pantries, Redeemer United Methodist Church of Dewitt provided over 30 meals for transitional and non-residential clients and The American Legion Riders provided the fixings for the Thanksgiving meal for SafeCenter’s emergency shelter. “As the nation celebrates the Thanksgiving Holiday, SafeCenter has much to be thankful for with all the generous community support provided to the survivors we serve,” shared Executive Director, Tonya Avery. SafeCenter is a nonprofit agency whose vision is for all individuals to experience the right to be free from violence. Their mission is to build comprehensive and sustainable community strategies to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in Clinton and Shiawassee Counties.
