Trump announced on Friday that the inauguration will be moved indoors to the Rotunda due to expected dangerously cold temperatures in the capital on Monday. This is only the second time the ceremony will take place indoors, the first being Ronald Reagan’s second term swearing-in in 1985.

“I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather,” Trump wrote on the website Truth Social.

“On Monday, Capital One Arena will open for LIVE viewing of this historic event, as well as hosting the Presidential Parade. I’ll join the crowd at Capital One after my swearing-in.”
