LENNOX ELECTRIC, which has been in Dutchtown Owosso for a number of years, will be moving to Caledonia Charter Township later this year, said owner Tom Lennox. “I bought the former Wickes Lumber building in February. We were broken into three times (in Dutchtown).

“I plan to offer storage for recreational vehicles with the added space we’ll have,” he said.

The large showroom and former lumber storage/sales facility was constructed about 50 years ago by Standard Lumber and Supply, which had been along the railroad tracks to the south. After a few years, it sold to Wickes Lumber, which had initially operated in Owosso at 210 S. Water after A&P moved its grocery operations to a new supermarket on M-21 just east of Gould Street.

In recent years, an indoor auto salvage company has been operating at the Corunna Avenue property and will be leaving, said Lennox. This was the view Tuesday afternoon, July 7. (Independent Photo/BILL CONSTINE)
