LENNON LIONS CLUB reports theft of their new zero-turn lawn tractor and trailer which was planned on being auctioned off in this summer’s raffle. The unit was stolen from a downtown Lennon restaurant parking lot during the early morning hours of Thursday, June 23 between 2 and 6 a.m. The Lennon Lions Club, a sanctioned organization member of the International Association of Lions Clubs holds a raffle each summer and this year’s winning ticket would have won the zero-turn Cub Cadet. The club has been accepting donations for raffle tickets since March and the machine has been on display in various grocery stores and in restaurant parking lots since warm weather arrived.

After stealing the unit the Lennon Police recovered a pad of signs a few miles away from the scene of the theft which were discarded in a ditch. Lennon Lions Club Secretary Bob Sturgis said the police are conducting fingerprint analysis on the signs. The tractor was to be raffled off on Sunday,

July 17. It is yet to be known if the club will be able to replace the stolen items and continue the raffle. The group is asking the public’s help in securing the return of the lawn tractor and trailer. Those with any information are asked to call Bob Sturgis at (810) 223-3775. (Courtesy Photo)
