A new scholarship fund has been established at the Shiawassee Community Foundation in memory of Kevin A. Zmitko, who passed away in a tragic farm accident on Oct. 22, 2014 at the age of 33.
Kevin worked on the family farm for the majority of his life. He was born Feb. 24, 1981 to Jerry and Carolyn Zmitko. He graduated from Corunna High School in 2000 and was an active member of FFA during his time at Corunna. After graduation, Kevin spent most of his time working on the family farm, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was an extremely hard worker with strong work ethics. He had a love and passion for fishing and hunting.
In honor of Kevin, a scholarship will be available to high school seniors residing in Shiawassee County who are planning to pursue a degree in agriculture.
